CENTRE HALL -- The 2023 Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair Queen, Teaghan Bair, will be competing for the title of Pennsylvania State Fair Queen at its annual competition held at the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fair's convention. The competition will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, through Saturday, Jan. 20, in Hershey, Pa.

Teaghan was crowned the 2023 Centre County Grange Fair Queen during the 148th Grange Fair in August. She has spent the past five months promoting the fair, agriculture and its impact on not only the Centre County community but across the state.

Fifty-eight contestants, including Bair, will be competing for the coveted title of the 38th PA State Fair Queen. Each contestant has submitted a written essay, will present a speech on "Why You Should Come to My Fair", have an interview with a panel of judges and a personal introduction.

The Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Program allows young women to promote Pennsylvania's number one industry: the agriculture and tourism industry. They also provide many opportunities for the young women to learn about self-growth and skills that are necessary in the future. The Centre County Grange Encampment & Fair committee will be in attendance to support Bair, of Centre Hall, as she competes this year.
