LOCK HAVEN -- A celebration for the holiday season was held with a luncheon at the Sons of Italy Lodge on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023 for Clinton County Specialty Courts.
The Sons hosted a wonderful meal for all participants and their families that continue to succeed in the programs.
Specialty Courts program runners were happy to celebrate recovery and have four graduates of the programs to honor during the lunch.
Special guests were in attendance as well that included President Judge Craig P. Miller, the founder of the Treatment Court based programs in Clinton County, Judge Michael F. Salisbury, presiding Specialty Court Judge, along with then-commissioner Miles Kessinger and current Commissioners Angela Harding, Jeff Snyder and Jim Russo.
Also in attendance were representatives from the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Court (AOPC), Brandy Yasenchak, Angela Lowery and Nevin Warner.
Santa was also there for all the children that were in attendance with warming gifts.
The guest speaker was a previous graduate from Lycoming County's Treatment Court Program and traveled over three hours to spread the message of recovery!
The event has grown over the years and is enjoyed by many as a way to send hope and positivity over the holidays, which "can be a very challenging time," as President Judge Miller mentioned during his presentation. All graduates were lauded and honored for their accomplishments and continued sobriety.
The ceremony concluded with the culmination of continued support to all three of the court programs with the presentation of a $3,000 check from the Sons.
The lodge has been a supporter of the programs since 2014. Their annual donation continues to support the program with incentives, housing, education books and other materials needed for the success of the programs.
"We wouldn't be able to do what we do without the Son's support," said Salisbury. "We look forward to continuing the tradition and promoting a safe, recovery-oriented event."
The program sent a special thank you to Loggia Giosue Carducci Lodge No. 146, the Sons of Italy and the Clinton County Specialty Courts Programs.
