BELLEFONTE -- Spring is just around the corner and the Centre County Conservation District is now accepting orders for their annual Tree Seedling Sale.
Proceeds from the sale are utilized to sponsor environmental education programs, including the annual Centre County Envirothon.
The sale offers a variety of seedlings including Norway Spruce, Engelmann Spruce, Concolor Fir, Eastern White Pine, Sugar Maple, Black Gum, American Redbud, Tulip Poplar and Spicebush. Trees are sold in bundles of ten bare-rooted seedlings.
Additionally, a selection of fruit trees are available that include an Apple Tree Package of Crimson Crisp and GoldRush; Pear Tree Package of Harrow Crisp and Bell; Cherry Tree Package of Kristin and Benton (two trees per package for crossing pollination); and Starfire Peach. The fruit trees are bare-rooted, averaging four to six feet in height.
