Last call for book sale donations
The Annie Halenbake Ross Library book sale is flying up fast! Visit March 27-30 to restock your reading collection, pick up puzzles and dig into the DVDs! All genres represented, from history and cooking books to Amish romance and westerns. Refresh your children's reading material with board books, chapter books and young adult books. Hundreds of cartons of books will be available.
The library can't do it without you! Most books sold at the book sale come from your generous donations. If you have books gathering dust that you'd like to go to a good cause, bring them in! They can be left under the steps in the lobby, or at the front desk. Donations will be accepted for this book sale until March 20 at 4 p.m.
Book sale hours are as follows: Wednesday, March 27, and Thursday, March 28, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Get out and walk!
Walk individually or contact your family, friends or coworkers to join Everybody Walk Across Pennsylvania from April 1 to May 27, 2024. You can walk as an individual or form a team of up to five. Even your dog can be a member of your team!
This is a free virtual walking program, so you may walk wherever you choose - around the park, around your house or around your neighborhood!
Each person will try to average walking or exercising 10 miles per week for a total of eight weeks. Walk with your team or on your own, at a time and place convenient for you. Weekly emails will include motivators to keep walking and strategies for healthy eating. Each week, individuals and team captains will report the total number of miles walked.

Community invited to remember DAR members
The community is invited to remember Jane Pool and Holly Achenbach Yohe at the Colonel Hugh White-Colonel John Chatham DAR Meeting held on March 19 at 1 p.m. at Annie Halenbake Ross Library.
Jane Pool was born in Beech Creek, a graduate of Lock Haven High School and Lock Haven State College. She taught in Blanchard, Monument and McGhee in Lock Haven. She was a member of several organizations. Jane was a member of John Chatham DAR until they merged with Colonel Hugh White. She passed away in June 2023.
Holly Achenbach Yohe was born in Lock Haven into a military family, a high school graduate of Biloxi Mississippi, and a college graduate from Gettysburg College. With her military husband, Skip Yohe, she lived in St. Andrews, Scotland, Washington D.C., Finland, Arizona and Tel Aviv a few years. She worked in Williamsburg as a tour guide for Colonial Williamsburg and College of William and Mary Elderhostel. Holly was a member of Colonel Hugh White and gave many Lock Haven DAR community presentations to celebrate Women's History Month. She passed away September 2023.
