After 24 years of large-scale community cleanup events, CleanScapes Advisory Board members are excited to announce a new program, "Pop-up Cleanups". CleanScapes President Dr. John Reid stated, "CleanScapes is contacted to help with littered sites that we affectionately call "mom and pop" sites. Yes, there's litter but the sites are not large enough for us to plan a full-scale event. We all want litter-free public spaces so this year we are offering Clinton County citizens and businesses full litter cleanup assistance for smaller events at no charge. Let's say you have a few neighborhood blocks or business property with scattered litter, or you have a favorite park or short section of riverbank or roadside that 2-10 people could cleanup in an hour or two. We will work with you and depending on the site, offer our event insurance coverage, gloves, bags, safety vests and leadership guidance offered by our Project Director Elisabeth Lynch. You would select a site, create your team, and then contact Elisabeth. These private, pop-up cleanups are a new option that we hope inspires the greater community members to get out and cleanup their favorite locations in Clinton County."
