CHICKEN & WAFFLES
Yarnell United Methodist Church is having a chicken and waffles supper at the Yarnell Community Center on Saturday, April 20, from 4-7 p.m. The supper is a fundraiser to help pay for the needs of the community center. Some of those needs include buying heating fuel and paying the taxes that the building rentals during the year don't raise enough to cover.
Everyone is invited to eat in and fellowship with others during the meal or buy take-out meals. The price is a donation for the meals. Children ages 10 and under can eat free unless you'd like to make a donation for their meal as well. Call Donna at 814-880-9450 for info.
Jack Miller is the rental coordinator for the Yarnell Community Center. A great place to hold parties, showers or family gatherings, the former school house building has been nicely updated, has an open kitchen and counter area and will seat about 100 people. The cost is $75 per day and can be reserved by calling Jack at 814-699-0548.
POT PIE SALE
Wingate Faith Church is having a pot pie sale on Monday, April 8, beginning at 4 p.m. at the church. This is the last pot pie sale this spring, so stock up to tide you over until the sales begin again in September.
Quarts of ham or chicken pot pie (with homemade bread) are $8 and can be pre-ordered by calling Janette at 814-883-0893. Walk-in sales will be welcomed on April 8 as well.
The church is located at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, which is directly behind the Sheetz store in Wingate.
WING NIGHT
Citizen's Hook & Ladder Company in Milesburg is having their final Wing Night of the season tomorrow, April 6, from 5-7 p.m. at the fire station, 300 Catherine St., Milesburg.
Wings are $10 for a dozen for bone-in or boneless and they come in various flavors: mild buffalo, hot, BBQ and three different types of garlic wings. Add a side order of fries for $4 more.

CEMETERY CLEAN-UP
Fairview Cemetery Spring Clean-up day will be May 4, with a rain date of May 11 if needed. The clean-up crew will begin at 9 a.m. to remove faded and out-of-season decorations from the grave-sites at their discretion. FCC SOUP SALE
Friendship Community Center in Beech Creek is having a ham and bean soup sale on Saturday, April 6, beginning at 9 a.m. The soup will be sold fresh out of the kettle for $3 a bowl. There will also be hot dogs and drinks available for purchase. FCC will be open for you to sit and enjoy your soup. And, if you'd like, bring your own container and buy bean soup to take home with you!

RIP TICKET TOURNEY
Bellefonte Knights of Columbus will be holding their first Rip Ticket Tournament on April 20 at the Milesburg Community Center, 101 Mill St., Milesburg, Pa. Doors open at 9 a.m., free food and drink beginning at 10 a.m. and the tournament begins promptly at 11 a.m. Tickets are $50 for one player with one guest, with one $25 rebuy option along with numerous other raffles and games. CLOTHING
Light of the World Clothing Bank at St. John's United Church of Christ will be holding a free clothing give-away on Friday, April 5, from 2:30-5 p.m. and on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon. Spring/summer clothing for everyone from babies to adults, blankets, sheets, some beautiful handmade afghans, shoes, purses and more. Everything is free! The church is located at 145 W. FISHERMEN'S BREAKFAST
Before heading to your favorite fishing spot on opening day of trout season, you can eat a hearty breakfast at the Mill Hall Fire Company that will be having their annual Fishermen's Breakfast at the fire station tomorrow, April 6. The breakfast will run from 6-10 a.m. You'll get all you can eat pancakes, sausage and drink for $5. Children under age 12 will pay $3 for their meal. Even if you aren't a fisherman, drop by to eat to support the fire company's fundraiser.
HOWARD GRANGE
The Grange is selling tickets for their Cash Bingo that will be happening at the Howard fire hall on April 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 early or $25 at the door. Doors open at noon and Bingo begins at 2 p.m. Kitchen will be open and there will be lots of fun and prizes!
If you're not a Bingo player then stop by to buy chances on the many baskets, gift certificates and cards and many prizes that have been donated. For Bingo tickets or info call Anita at 814-571-4160.
The public is invited to become members of the Howard Grange. Meetings are held at the Howard fire hall on the second Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be on April 10 at 6:30 p.m. Each Grange member is asked to bring an item to donate to the Howard United Methodist porch pantry.
CORN HOLE & CHICKEN
There will be a Chicken BBQ combined with a Corn Hole tournament at the Howard Fire Hall on May 18. Dinners will include 1/2 chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans and a roll with butter for $12. Cornhole registration begins at 11 a.m. (bags fly at noon) and is $20 per person, which includes the meal. If you aren't playing in the tournament you can still purchase the meal at $12. BINGO
Rebellion Girls Softball will be having a Cash Bingo on April 21 at the Howard Fire Company.
Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo begins at 1 p.m. There will be lots of rip tickets, a 50/50, more raffles and plenty of homemade foods. Tickets are available by calling 814-482-0736.
LIONS NEWS
Howard Area Lions will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on April 10 at the Howard fire hall. Blood drives at the fire hall for the rest of the year will be on June 5, Aug. 6, Oct. 8 and Dec. 4. The blood drives will run from 1:30 to 6 p.m.
Milesburg Lions Club holds their Bingo every Thursday evening at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6:45 p.m.
Howard Area Lions will hold their Lions Bingo at the Beech Creek Fire Company social hall on April 11 and April 25. Doors and the kitchen open at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo begins at 6:30 p.m.
Bellefonte Lions Club is selling chances for a Cash and Meat raffle. There are various bundles of meats (featuring bacon, beef and chicken meats) along with cash prizes being offered. The tickets are bargain priced at 3 for $10 or $5 each. Meat prizes can be picked up at Mark's Custom Meats in Lamar. Winners will be drawn and notified on May 8.
Howard Area Lions has a medical equipment program available to the community where they loan items free of charge to individuals needing them. Items include canes, walkers, wheel chairs, portable potty chairs, shower chairs and hospital beds to name a few. If anyone has these items in good condition to donate to the Lions Club so that more people can be helped, please contact Lion Dwayne Haines at 570-962-2939.
FIRE NEWS
Centre Hall Fire Company is holding their first Friday of the month Bingo tonight at the fire station. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; early bird game starts at 6:30 p.m. and regular Bingo kicks off at 7 p.m.
Centre Hall Fire Company has their Gun Raffle tickets for sale. The raffle will be held on Saturday, May 18. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the Friday night Bingo or by seeing a fire company member.
Millheim Fire Company has tickets for their cash and gun raffle to be held on April 13 on sale now. Tickets are $20 or bargain priced at 6/$100.
Howard Fire Hall yard sale days are May 9, 10 and 11 this year. Donations of good, clean and working items can be brought on Monday, May 6, through Wednesday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. No tires, no car seats, no encyclopedias, no wet clothes and no junk!
Pleasant Gap Fire Company has set the new dates for their fire company carnival. The carnival is going to be held on June 20, 21 and 22, 2024. The parade will be held on Thursday evening, June 20. Mark your calendar of these new carnival dates and stay tuned for more info coming.
SOUP SALE
Logan Grange #109 at 122 N. Main St., Pleasant Gap, is having a soup sale on April 20, from 10 a.m. until sold out or 1 p.m. Soup flavors are chicken corn noodle, chili and ham, green beans and potatoes. Soup comes in freezable containers and is $9 per quart.
