RENOVO -- Each summer, boys and girls, ages 7-12, have the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled stay at The Salvation Army Camp Ladore located in Waymart, Pa., in the Poconos. The 1000-acre camp includes beautiful Lake Ladore, great for canoeing and fishing.
Transportation is provided by The Salvation Army. The camping experience is special for many young people, especially those who have limited opportunities to get out to the country or woods. The children make new friends from all over the eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware areas.
The Renovo unit does have a couple of kids taking advantage of the opportunity but some open seats remain.
At Camp Ladore children encounter acres upon acres of fields, lakes, trails, woods and state-of-the-art facilities. Children are hosted in safe environments and closely monitored by trained and capable staff. A variety of activities are offered -- they will learn about Jesus, Bible stories and Jesus Theater. They learn new crafts and sports and the traditional camping songs they will never forget.
Also included at camp are the following: nature study, swimming, boating, arts and crafts, music instruction, archery, hiking, organized games, ropes challenge courses and more. For many children, Salvation Army camps are truly a life-changing experience.
Dates of this year's camp will be from June 24-28.
