By From Staff Reports 1 min read

LOCK HAVEN -- The Alzheimer's and Caregivers' Support Group will not be holding a May meeting originally scheduled for May 14. Meetings will resume on Tuesday, June 11, when a representative from a non-medical home health agency will speak on how in-home services can benefit both the person with memory loss and the caregiver. Phoebe Watson, Outreach Coordinator with Albright LIFE, will be the guest speaker at the July 9 meeting.

The Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The meeting place has convenient parking next to the church and a handicapped accessible entrance.

The group, sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania and the Covenant United Methodist Church, is free and allows families time to share common issues and concerns. Sitter service can be provided to the person with memory loss at the church while caregivers are attending the meeting. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.

For more information about the local support group or for sitter service for the meetings, call Fran Decker, support group facilitator at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084.
