The Clinton County Arts Council and Bald Eagle Art League recently held a joint exhibit at the Station Gallery, 2 E. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven, which saw a large turnout. The juried exhibit saw many talented artists take home ribbons, all chosen by guest Judge Rita Bower, an educator and artist. The CCAC selects a judge from outside the participating and organizing artists to select ribbon awards for works they feel are the best in that particular year. First place went to Maggie Kemmerer for her oil painting, "Regatta"; second place was awarded to Mickey Mapstone for his oil painting, "Self-Portait"; and third place went to Philip Huber for his scratchboard piece titled "Thingvellir, Iceland 6." Some honorable mentions also included William Fidler's "Bulk Elk" charcoal and graphite, Mapstone's oil painting "Princess," Theresa Phillips's gourd sculpture with oil ink and acrylic paint called "The One Who Got Away" and Jackie Thomas's mixed media fiber piece "REM Dreams." This combo exhibit will remain in place until June 23.
