LOCK HAVEN -- The community is coming together to make the 10th annual Flags of Honor event a great one. Triangle Park in downtown Lock Haven will host more than 100 full-sized American flags over Memorial Day weekend, each dedicated to someone special in the life of the flag sponsor.
The 2024 Flags of Honor event has three Angel Partners -- Schlesinger Communications Inc., SWC Realty and Nestlerode Contracting Co. Inc. which has been a partner from the very beginning.
Also this year, 26 businesses have become Corporate Sponsors.
"It's heartwarming to see everyone supporting this meaningful event," said Marianne Lotfi, president of Downtown Lock Haven Rotary which organizes Flags of Honor.
Monday, May 13 is the deadline to sponsor a flag. Mail $35 per flag with your name, address, phone and email, plus the name and wording for your flag plaque to: Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven, P.O. Box 634, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
The last day to become a Corporate Sponsor is Wednesday, May 15. Businesses that send a $100 donation to the above address will be named on a banner, in The Express, and in the event booklet.
Flags of Honor proceeds go to scholarships and nonprofits serving our area.
