CASTANEA TOWNSHIP NEWS
There are a lot of happenings in Castanea Township planned by the Recreation Committee this summer. There will be a community yard sale on Saturday, June 8.
On Saturday, June 15, there will be a community Dumpster Day. Township residents can bring certain items for disposal at the township building beginning at 7 a.m. The dumpster was donated by Big Mountain Disposal.
On Tuesday, June 25, there will be a day of service by SYENQO. They, along with the township committee, will clean up the lower Creek Road.
Castanea Township's big event for July will be Castanea Day on Saturday, July 20. Lots of fun activities are planned for residents and visitors alike, including a run/walk, vendors, basket raffles, bounce houses, an animal show and train displays. The day will conclude with a band and food at the Lock Haven Moose Club.
Plans are also underway for a "Music in the Park" event on Monday, Aug. 12. Hope to see everyone enjoying these summer events.
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP
On June 8, the Woolrich Summer Opener will be held at Woolrich Community Park from 12-3 p.m. Join the Pine Creek Recreation Committee and the Woolrich Little League for a fundraiser to support park programs! On July 13 and 14, the Blaze of Summer Baseball Tournament will be held at Woolrich Community Park and Avis Little League Park. The tournament will feature 8u coach pitch, 9u, 10u and 11u. WAYNE TOWNSHIP NEWS
The Summer Recreation Program is scheduled to begin on June 17 and run for eight weeks, ending on Aug. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. The two park supervisors for Wayne Township are Sydney Redmon and Brooklyn Bechdel.
Need a pavilion? Wayne Township has six available for rent. There are two located at the Wayne Township Nature Park, three at the McElhattan Park and one at Gardner Park. These pavilions seat from 32 to 64 people. Each park offers different activities, from playgrounds to nature trails. They are available to rent for $40 per day from 6 a.m. until dusk.
For more information about renting a pavilion, contact Mary Kay Dremel-Farley at 570-377-0034 or Wendy Connelley at 570-295-8037. They can help you decide which pavilion would be best for your event and send you a rental agreement.
