It was a beautiful day for this year's Ironman 70.3 event, which stretches between State College into Mill Hall Borough. The triathlon features a 1.2 mile swim at Foster J. Sayers Dam at Bald Eagle State Park, followed by a 56 mile bike journey to Mill Hall before turning south and rolling to Pleasant Gap and ultimately Penn State Main Campus, where the 13.1 miles remaining is completed -- ending at Beaver Stadium. Hundreds of participants from near and far took part in this year's race, with the Happy Valley Visitors Bureau -- who organizes the event each year -- taking to social media to prominently announce the top finishers. The top female finisher was Caroline Moyer with a time of 5:02:11. The top male finisher was Kiel Bur with a time of 4:25:02. Even with the race just completed, the visitors bureau is planning next year's race, set to take place on June 15, 2025.
