Farrandsville Furnace sign dedication is July 14

FARRANDSVILLE -- A new informational sign that tells the story of cutting edge technology in the early 19th century will be dedicated at Light The Fire at the Farrandsville Furnace, on July 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Farrandsville was once an industrial center of what would become Clinton County. Thanks to a grant from the Clinton County Community Foundation, a sign has been erected that tells the story of iron production in this town in North Central Pennsylvania. The Farrandsville Furnace is on the National Register of HIstoric Places and is in need of a roof and masonry work in order to save the structure. It is owned by the Clinton County Historical Society, whose mission is to collect, preserve and share the history of Clinton County communities.

Berkebile Real Estate will be serving free hot dogs during this event, and donations to save the structure will be gratefully accepted.
