MONUMENT CELEBRATION
The Monument Church of Christ and the Monument Festival Committee invites everyone to Monument on Saturday, Dec. 14, for the annual tree lighting ceremony and celebration. At 5:30 p.m. the band starts the music to welcome everyone, and at 6 p.m. the tree at the lower end of town is lit to celebrate Jesus' birth and the Christmas season. Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming all the way from the North Pole to hear the wish lists of all the boys and girls.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE
Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. and everyone is invited. This year we are having ballerinas, a guest piano player, along with piano and organ music, singing and scripture.
The church is beautifully decorated after the Hanging of the Greens service and is handicap accessible with plenty of free parking in the back of the church. Guests are welcome to come in the back door using the wheelchair ramp where there are no steps.
GLORYWAY CONCERT
Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will host GloryWay in concert on Sunday evening, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. The men's trio will share God's love through their laughter, encouragement and soul stirring gospel music ministry. The public is invited to the free concert. A love offering is taken during the service for GloryWay to continue their ministry.
TROMBONES & MORE
Howard United Methodist Church will host the Penn State Trombones on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 9 a.m. All are welcome to come hear the PSU students play. Please consider dropping a few dollars in their trombone case to help with their expenses in coming to the church.
Food distribution will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m. at the church. Those seeking food aid may begin lining up after 4 p.m., being careful not to block driveways. Call 814-625-2182 for info on the food distribution at the church.
Also happening this month at Howard United Methodist Church will be a Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m. A special service featuring the Christmas story, carols -- like Silent Night and Joy to the World -- will be sung by hand-held candlelight in the sanctuary. Afterwards, we'll sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and have cake and ice cream in the fellowship hall. All are invited to come to the service and fellowship time afterward.
BINGO BENEFIT
A Bingo benefit for Tammy Nyman will be held on Dec. 14 at the KBR Bingo hall in the Piper Museum building, Lock Haven. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m. Tickets are $20. There will also be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, rip tickets and food available.
Baskets and prizes for the Chinese auction are needed to help to make this event a success for Tammy. Tammy lives in Beech Creek with her husband Wally. She is in need of a double-lung transplant. The funds from the benefit will help the family with travel and hotel expenses as well as medical co-pays and medicines.

BALLROOM DANCE
There will be a ballroom dance on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m., at Lambert Hall in Bellefonte. Cost is $10/person and bring a snack to share. Call/text 717-543-8348 for more info.
FIRE NEWS
Millheim Fire Company will bring Santa to the Penns Valley area tomorrow, Dec. 14, beginning at 9 a.m. Santa will be riding the fire truck in the Lower Penns Valley area, Haines and Penn Township areas and in Millheim Borough. Come to the curb to greet Santa and his fire company helpers!
Millheim Fire Company will have a Breakfast with Santa at the fire station on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu features pancakes, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, toast, chocolate and white milk, orange juice and sweet treats. The cost will be $7 for those 13 and older; $5 for ages 9-12 and kiddos ages eight and younger get to eat for free.

Millheim Fire Company has their cash and gun raffle tickets for sale and you can get yours at the breakfast from any fire company member. The raffle date is April 12, 2025. Tickets are $10 each of 3/$20.
Come have Breakfast with Santa at Centre Hall Fire Company on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 8-11 a.m. Breakfast will be $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 7-12 and kiddos ages 6 and under get to eat free with St. Nick. In addition to breakfast the whole family will be able to enjoy arts and crafts and a "snowball" fight. Bring your cameras for some photos with Santa, too!
Centre Hall Fire Company's first Friday Bingo will be held on Jan. 3. Doors open at 5:30; early birds games at 6:30 and regular Bingo starts at 7 p.m. Rip tickets and food available.
LIONS NEWS
Howard Area Lions will distribute food and Toys for Tots on Monday, Dec. 16. From noon to 3 p.m. those who use the local food bank can come for food and toys. Bring your sturdy boxes back for future food distributions. Distribution is for those residents living in Beech Creek Borough and BC Township as well as those Centre County residents who missed their distribution date earlier this month. Residents need to live in the Lions servicing area which includes Howard, Blanchard, Hunter Run, Hublersburg, Lamar, Marsh Creek, Mount Eagle, Monument and Orviston.
Howard Area Lions Bingo will be held this month on Dec. 19. Normally Bingo is held on the second and fourth Thursday's, but because of Christmas the Lions have moved the Bingo up to be on Dec. 19. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m.
Milesburg Lions Club holds their Bingo every Thursday evening at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6:45 p.m.
Howard Lions has their 2025 PA Lottery raffle tickets for sale. They are $10 each and are good for the whole year. Prizes are awarded each day except on Sunday's. Winning number is based on the Pick 3 evening drawing. See any Lion to get your ticket today! They make great stocking stuffers!
NEW YEAR'S DINNER
Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church is having their annual Pork and Sauerkraut Dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. The meal is free (donations are accepted by the church) and is by take-out only from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located at 111 Main St., Mill Hall, with plenty of drive-up space to the rear. Just tell the greeters how many meals you'd like and they'll be brought right out for you.
