Historical society Caboose dedication set for April 6 in Castanea

CASTANEA — Join the Clinton County Historical Society for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the newest addition to the Castanea Railroad Station Historical site. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on April 6 at 3 p.m. at the Castanea Railroad Station, 15 Logan Ave., Lock Haven.

Guest speaker for the ribbon cutting event will be Luther Gette, “King of the Hobos.” Light refreshments will be served. RSVP is requested by March 31 by emailing info@clintonpahistory.org.

The New York Central wooden caboose was built between 1910-1911. It was the last wooden car to go up the Pine Creek Valley in 1965 when the line was discontinued.

The Clinton County Historical Society would like to thank all who had a hand in the acquisition and restoration of this project.
