KING OF KINGS
Blanchard Church of Christ will be presenting their annual Easter drama, King of Kings, April 11 to 13. On Friday and Saturday evening, the prelude begins at 6:15 p.m. and you must be seated by 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. start. If you aren’t in your seat by 6:30 p.m. it could be given to someone else who wants to see the drama that evening.
For the Sunday, April 13, matinee, the prelude begins at 2:15 p.m. and you must be seated by 2:30 p.m. for the 3 p.m. performance.

PALM SUNDAY PROGRAM
You are invited to join the congregation at Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church on Palm Sunday at 9 a.m. for the children and teens special re-enactment of “The Last Supper.” The program will also include foot washing, readings and songs. BREAKFAST BENEFIT
Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club is hosting a Breakfast Benefit for Skye Breon on Saturday, April 19, at the club. An all you can eat breakfast will be provided for $10 for adult meals. Meals for children ages 6-12 will be $6. Younger children can eat for free, or you can make a donation to help raise more funds for Skye.
Skye is a nine year old who attends Liberty Curtin Elementary that is battling ovarian and lung cancer.
In addition to the breakfast being served from 7-11 a.m., there will be a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.
The SVBTM Club is located at 84 Harley Drive, (the Woolrich area), Lock Haven.

FISH FOR FREE DAYS
Mark your calendar. There are Fish-for-Free days where you can fish without having a license. Those days are Sunday, May 25, and Friday, July 4.
HOWARD HAWKS & MORE
On Saturday, April 12, the Howard Hawks will be having a Chicken BBQ at the Howard V.F.W. Post 8269. Chicken and sides are being prepared by Tiny. The $15/meal includes 1/2 chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans and a roll. Get yours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Howard Community Yard Sale days will be on May 2 and May 3. Howard Yard Sales are always the first full weekend (Friday and Saturday) in May.
On May 2, the Howard Grange #297 will have their Food Tent set up for the town-wide yard sales beside the old Insurance Office (near the post office). Breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, soup and drinks for sale. More details will be coming!
On May 3 the Howard V.F.W. Post 8269 will be having a Chicken BBQ. Beginning at 11 a.m. until all gone, the meal will be $15 and includes 1/2 chicken, macaroni salad, potato salad, baked beans and a roll with butter. Bruce’s “secret recipe” will be used, and that makes for some great tasting chicken.
Tickets are still available for the Howard VFW’s Gun Drawing on May 10. The gun drawing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be bought at the club.
YARD SALES
Snydertown will be having community yard sales today and tomorrow. St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Snydertown will also be having an indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with many items to choose from along with baked goods and breakfast sandwiches for sale.
Milesburg town wide yard sales will be held on May 16-17. The Milesburg Museum is now accepting your donations of good, clean and working items for the yard sale. Donations can be dropped off at the museum on Saturdays or by calling 814-404-4021 for other drop off arrangement times.
FIRE NEWS
Centre Hall Fire Company will host Breakfast with the Easter Bunny tomorrow, April 12, from 8-11 a.m., at the fire station at 134 N. Witmer Ave. Adult meals will be $8; children ages 7-12 will cost $5 and those six and under can eat for free.
An Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by Potter Township Park & Rec, will begin at 10 a.m. for children ages nine and younger.
Millheim Fire Company will be having their cash and gun raffle tomorrow. Tickets are $10 each or 3/$20. Must have photo ID to be admitted. The gun drawing runs from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. In addition to the prizes on the raffle ticket, there will also be a gun safe with a few mystery guns inside that will be raffled off.
Millheim Fire Company is having a Palm Sunday Brunch on April 13 at the fire station. Meals will be served from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Take-outs and dine-in meals are both available for $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 9-12. Ages 8 and younger can eat for free.
The menu includes scrambled eggs, barbecued ham, roasted potatoes, creamed dried beef, toast, fruit, baked goods, orange juice and more.
Millheim Fire Company is having an Easter Egg Hunt at the Millheim Pool on Saturday, April 19, at 1 p.m. The hunt is for children ages 0-12 years old. The Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance at 12:30 p.m. There will also be peanut butter eggs donated by the Lingle family.
FAIRVIEW
CEMETERY
The Fairview Cemetery has set May 1 as their spring clean-up of the church and cemetery grounds. Anyone having decorations on the gravesites that you’d want to keep should make plans to remove the items before May 1. Pastor Dave and a crew of volunteers from the church will be performing the clean-up.
Anyone having any questions or those interested in obtaining lots at the cemetery should contact Linda at 814-355-8820.
EASTER EGG HUNTS
Yarnell United Methodist Church will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m.
Howard Parks and Recreation Committee will have an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 13, beginning at 2 p.m., at Howard Community Park (beside the post office).
New Hope Fellowship Church is having an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, starting at 11 a.m. at the church. There are more than 5,000 Easter eggs filled for the kiddos to find. There will also be food, games and golden ticket prizes to win! This year the church has Dairy Queen, Burger King and McDonald’s gift prizes along with kids meals at Denny’s. Weis in Mill Hall has also been generous and donated a $50 grocery gift card to be given away. Bring the whole family and enjoy the activities at New Hope Fellowship Church located at 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, (Route 64), Mill Hall.
Wingate Faith Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, is having an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m., at the church. This egg hunt is for children ages 0-11 years old. The church is located behind the Sheetz store near the BEA School in Wingate.
LIONS NEWS
Milesburg Lions Club holds a weekly Bingo every Thursday night at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.
Howard Area Lions Bingo will be held on Thurday, April 24, at the Beech Creek Fire Company’s social hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Bingo will be held in May as well before taking a break for the summer months.
Howard Area Lions will have their food distribution on Monday, April 21, from noon to 3 p.m., at the former Beech Creek Elementary School. Bring a sturdy box (or boxes) with you as there is always a need for larger boxes for food distributions. Food distribution is for those residents who live in the Centre County areas of Blanchard, Howard, Hunter Run, Lamar, Marsh Creek, Monument, Mount Eagle and Orviston, and those living in the Clinton County area of Beech Creek Borough and Beech Creek Township.
At the food bank distribution on May 19 there will be garden plants and seeds being given away, free of charge. The Lions expect to have tomato, peppers, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and onions available for food bank patrons. Mark your calendar because only on May 19 will this be happening!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Howard Christian Church Benevolence will have their annual Easter Bazaar on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the church. There will be handcrafted gifts, baked goods, peanut butter eggs and more! They’ll be making their homemade ham potpie and selling it for $9 a quart. Pre-orders must be placed by calling/texting Sheri at 814-876-2910. Proceeds from the Easter Bazaar are used to help local neighbors in need.
Ballroom Dancing will be on Sunday afternoon, April 13, from 2-5 p.m., at Lambert Hall, Bellefonte. $10/person and bring a snack to share. Live music this month with Zupe.
The Milesburg Museum and Historical Society’s next meeting will be held on April 23 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend. For more info, visit their website at www.milesburg.org.
Howard United Methodist Church will host the Penn State Trombones on Sunday, April 27. The service begins at 9 a.m. and all are invited. Bring a few dollars to drop in their case to help the musical students.
