Senior Scams Prevention Program Set in Castanea

The Castanea Township Recreation Committee and Supervisors are hosting a Senior Scams Prevention program for the public on Tuesday, May 20, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Castanea Township Building, 347 Nittany Road, Lock Haven. The free program is open to residents of any municipality or township. The guest speaker is Dana C. Neely, Education and Outreach Specialist, Office of Public Engagement, PA Office of Attorney General. In the program, residents will learn about the threat of fraud to the elder community, how to avoid being victimized; and to know who you should call when you are concerned about your safety and security. Ross Library Storytime

Children's Librarian, Miss Holly, shares a story and a craft each week with youngsters at the Ross Library. On Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. the story and craft are for 2-5 year olds. On Wednesdays the storytime at 10:30 a.m. is for children up to age 2, with older siblings welcome.

Join Flemington Hi-Neighbor

The Flemington Hi-Neighbor Committee is looking for new members. They are an all volunteer non-profit group with a goal to provide events for the community. They sponsor a carnival in the spring, flowers for the park, fundraisers, Christmas events and an Easter egg hunt and also help a local church with their Senior Thanksgiving Dinner. They always welcome new suggestions. The Hi-Neighbors meet the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Flemington Borough Office during fall to spring and at the Flemington Park during spring and summer months, weather permitting. New Hope Fellowship Room

New Hope Fellowship has a Fellowship Corner Room at its church at 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The Fellowship Corner Room is available for your parties, receptions, showers and other small gathering events. The room will seat 60-70 comfortably and offers tables, cushioned chairs, stoves, microwaves, a refrigerator and plenty of counter space and outside parking.
