KBR Bingo
Benefits others
KBR Bingo will be hosting benefit Bingos to help others. Please come and show your support!
Bingos are held at the Piper Museum building, third floor Bingo hall. Elevator service is available. In addition to the Bingo there are also Chinese auctions, 50/50 drawings and good food available from the kitchen. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m.
On May 31, the Bingo will help the family of Alissa DeManno pay for her funeral expenses after the February Flemington fire.
On June 8, the Bingo will benefit Dave Mader, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in April.
On June 21, Roads to Peace will be the beneficiary of funds.
On June 28, the Bingo will benefit Tucker Dorman, a young Mill Hall boy with Hodgkins lymphoma. “Tucker’s Tribe” is also collecting soda can tabs for his stay at the Ronald McDonald House during cancer treatments.
Blood Drives
The American Red Cross urges people to donate blood now. All blood donors are needed, especially those with type O blood, as this is the universal blood type and is in high demand and needed for patients suffering traumatic injuries, anemia and cancer. Several blood drives will be happening during the next few weeks that donors can attend. Visit the Red Cross website or call 1-800-RED CROSS to arrange an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcomed!
Blood drives will be held on the following dates:
On June 4, from 12:30-6 p.m., at the Howard fire hall.
On June 17, from 12:30-6 p.m., at Wingate Faith Church
On June 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Avery Dennison
On June 18, from 1:30-6 p.m., at the Porter Township building
On June 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Flemington First Church of Christ.
A Simple Request
Dogwood Circle Garden Club requests that those smokers who walk through the garden at the triangle and enjoy the flowers please take your cigarette butts with you instead of dropping them on the sidewalk or flicking them into the plantings. We have enough to do in maintaining the gardens and don’t need to pick up after you, too. Nothing is ever “thrown away,” just put somewhere else for others to deal with.
Seeking sobriety
Seeking Sobriety, a local AA meeting, meets Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 E. Main St., Lock Haven. Enter through the door at the end of a walkway on the right of the church. The open meeting features rotating topics with a focus on tools and a mindset for getting and staying sober.
