LOCK HAVEN — In the early 1960s when the new Lock Haven Hospital opened on Cree Drive, the Hospital Auxiliary was also formed. Through memberships and the operation of the hospital gift shop, funds were raised to benefit the hospital.

In addition, Health Care Awards were given to local graduating seniors who were going to pursue a future in a healthcare field.

This year three graduates of Central Mountain High School each received a $2,000 award. Due to the depletion of the auxiliary’s funds, these young ladies will be the last recipients.

Grace Wible, daughter of Jeremy and Nichole Wible, will be pursuing a Nursing BSN at West Chester University.

Ellen Banfill, daughter of Gerard and Ann Banfill, will be attending Penn College where she will be studying to be a PT Assistant.

Reagan Narehood, daughter of Robert and Ashley Narehood, will be enrolled in the Pre-Med program at Penn State University.

The awards this year were presented in memory of Susanna Counsil who was a long time OR nurse at the hospital and a dedicated member of the Auxiliary.

Starting at $3.69/week.
