LHHS ICHS classes of 1955

The Lock Haven High School and The Immaculate Conception High School classes of 1955 will meet for lunch at noon on Wednesday July 30 at Browns Hill Tavern.

Steel Horses for Real Horses

The Jersey Shore American Legion Riders Post 36 will host the Steel Horses for Real Horses Benefit Run on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, at the Jersey Shore American Legion, 320 Seminary St., Jersey Shore.

Registration runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and is $15 per bike and $10 per passenger. The event is open to all vehicles.

This will be a non-structured ride, followed by a hearty meal, a 50/50 drawing and an “Ole American Auction.” Breakfast sandwiches will be available for purchase for $5.

All proceeds benefit Heroes and Horses, a program supporting veterans through backcountry experiences.

Bellefonte Gamblers Anonymous is meeting on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 216 N. McAllister St., Bellefonte.

Help Helping Hands Help Others

Helping Hands at United Lutheran Church is a non profit program that helps low income families and senior citizens with items such as toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, soap, laundry care, cleaning items, ect. They will be closed for the month of July, but will reopen the third Wednesday in August. Any questions, please feel free to call Kelly Olmstead at 272-209-5912. Donations of any items (or financial support for us to buy items) will be a tremendous help for the program.

The Jersey Shore Elks #1057 restaurant is open to the public! Come try the great food prepared by Two Fired Up Guys. They offer more than your typical bar foods; burgers, sandwiches, dinners, salads, wings and much more. Check them out on Facebook for the full menu and daily specials such as Wing Night Wednesday. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Closed Tuesday and Sunday.

Truckers4Hope Camping registration open

Camping registration forms for this year’s Truckers 4 Hope event are now available. The event will be held Sept. 25-27 at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. For camping info call Jason Smith at 570-660-7281. Check out their website, www.truckers4hope.com, for more information and a registration form.

Would you like to become a Shoe Bank volunteer? The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is usually open one Saturday a month, when we have the fun of giving free new shoes to eligible kids and teens.
