Reunions

If your family or graduating high school class has a reunion coming up this summer that you’d like mentioned in our Reunions section of The Express, please email the details of the reunion to us at news@lockhaven.com. Be sure to include the family name or high school along with the date, time and location of the reunion. Any other specific information (like bring your own table service or a gift for the white elephant sale) should also be included. Please provide a contact telephone number for us to call if we have questions. And don’t forget to share the details of your reunion with us afterward as well.

TOPS

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is looking for interested participants and guest speakers. Weigh-ins are from 4:30-5 p.m. each Monday afternoon, followed by the business meeting at 5 p.m. TOPS is held at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall. Guest speakers are being sought to give a 15-20 minute presentation (or demonstration) on nutrition, forms of exercising or other healthy habits during the meetings. New Hope Fellowship Room

New Hope Fellowship has a Fellowship Corner Room at its church at 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The Fellowship Corner Room is available for your parties, receptions, showers and other small gathering events. The room will seat 60-70 comfortably and offers tables, cushioned chairs, stoves, microwaves, a refrigerator and plenty of counter space and outside parking. Monetary donations are appreciated but are not required for you to use the Fellowship Corner Room. Contact New Hope Fellowship at 570-755-1450 for info.

Training programs

Roads to Peace offers customizable, age appropriate prevention education programs for all age groups. Programs include but are not limited to: domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, people with disabilities abuse, medical screening, traumatic brain injury, workplace violence, sexual harassment, sexual coercion, dating violence, healthy relationships, bullying, stranger danger, three kinds of touches and human trafficking. Contact its business line at 570-748-9539 if you are interested in setting up training sessions.

Seeking sobriety

Seeking Sobriety, a local AA meeting, meets Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 E. Main St., Lock Haven. Enter through the door at the end of a walkway on the right of the church. The open meeting features rotating topics with a focus on tools and a mindset for getting and staying sober.
