Class of 1961
Bald Eagle Area Class of 1961 will gather for their annual reunion on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the T/A Truck Stop near Milesburg. All classmates and their guests are invited to attend. Jay T. Vonada Quartet
The Jay T. Vonada Quartet will be at Pine Grove Hall on Thursday, July 31, from 7-9 p.m.
The quartet has been entertaining central Pennsylvania and beyond since 2010. Jay is a professional jazz trombonist living in Aaronsburg, Pa. From festivals, wineries, breweries, nursing homes and universities, he has been called the region’s hardest-working trombonist. With seven albums to his name, his shows feature standards and original compositions.

Steel Horses for Real Horses
The Jersey Shore American Legion Riders Post 36 will host the Steel Horses for Real Horses Benefit Run on Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Jersey Shore American Legion, 320 Seminary St., Jersey Shore. Registration runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and is $15 per bike and $10 per passenger. The event is open to all vehicles. This will be a non-structured ride, followed by a hearty meal, a 50/50 drawing and an “Ole American Auction.” Breakfast sandwiches will be available for purchase for $5. Blood Drives
The American Red Cross urges people to donate blood now. All blood donors are needed, especially those with type O blood, as this is the universal blood type and is in high demand and needed for patients suffering traumatic injuries, anemia and cancer. Several blood drives will be happening during the next few weeks that donors can attend. Visit the Red Cross website or call 1-800-RED CROSS to arrange an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcomed!

Many local cemeteries are struggling with having enough funds to make sure that the grass gets mowed each summer. Whatever cemetery your loved ones are buried in, please consider making a donation now to help with the grass mowing expenses now that spring and summer have arrived.
