Local attorney, Charlie Rosamilia, has been elected chairperson of the Keystone Elk County Alliance Board of Directors.

KECA operates the Elk County Visitors Center in Benezette, Pa. The Elk Center has between 300,000 and 400,000 visitors per year and provides conservation education to over 40,000 youth and adults, via its staff and volunteers.

KECA works in conjunction with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) in a unique private/public partnership to forward its mission.

That mission includes Conservation Education, Habitat Improvement and Permanent Land Protection. Since the PGC relocated a portion of the elk herd into the Kettle Creek valley in a “trap and transfer” operation, the herd has thrived in Clinton County.

KECA has 16 chapters that hold annual banquets to support their mission. These banquets auction off a variety of firearms and other outdoor related items and provide a good meal to those attending. The Clinton County Chapter held a banquet for years before converting that event into “Clays for KECA”, a fun day of shooting clay pigeons along with other fundraising activities. “We are currently looking for volunteers to reorganize the Clinton County Chapter banquet,” Rosamilia said. Anyone interested can contact Charlie at crosamil@kcnet.org.
