Alzheimer’s Support Group to meet Aug. 12; Steppe to be guest speaker

LOCK HAVEN — The Alzheimer’s and Caregivers’ Support Group will meet Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 7 to 8 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. There is convenient parking next to the church and a handicapped accessible entrance.

Natalie Steppe, Assistant Director of Lycoming County Veterans’ Affairs will be the guest speaker. Natalie has worked for the Veterans’ Affairs office since 2013, first as an administrative assistant and then as a certified Veterans’ Service Officer since 2019. She is now the Assistant Director of the Office. Her office covers Lycoming County and beyond, including Clinton County.

Natalie will talk about VA benefits for long term care including VA pension eligibility, aid and attendance, health care and home care. Natalie states, “Our goal is to assist every Veteran with their benefits through the VA and health care.”

Sitter service can be provided to the person with memory loss at the church while caregivers are attending the meeting. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.
