Helping Hands

Helping Hands will be held today, Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the United Lutheran Church in Lock Haven behind KFC. Helping Hands assists low-income families and senior citizens in the Clinton County area. They will receive items such as toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, soap, toothpastes and others. Donations of nonperishable items are welcome. Any questions, please feel free to call Kelly Olmstead at 272-209-5912.

Fellowship Room

New Hope Fellowship has a Fellowship Corner Room at its church at 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The Fellowship Corner Room is available for your parties, receptions, showers and other small gathering events. The room will seat 60-70 comfortably and offers tables, cushioned chairs, stoves, microwaves, a refrigerator and plenty of counter space and outside parking. Monetary donations are appreciated but are not required for you to use the Fellowship Corner Room. Contact New Hope Fellowship at 570-755-1450 for info.

The Jersey Shore Elks #1057 restaurant is open to the public! Come try the great food prepared by Two Fired Up Guys. They offer more than your typical bar foods; burgers, sandwiches, dinners, salads, wings and much more. Check them out on Facebook for the full menu and daily specials such as Wing Night Wednesday. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Closed Tuesday and Sunday.

Use headlights in foggy conditions

PennDOT reminds motorists of Pennsylvania’s law requiring moving vehicles to have headlights turned on when visibility is low due to unfavorable conditions, including fog. When driving in fog, low beam headlights should be used since the high beam setting creates glare and further reduces visibility.
