Saturday, Aug. 30
— The Penns Valley Conservation Association (PVCA) is excited to announce the 22nd annual Crickfest at Coburn Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free, family-friendly event celebrates watershed health, community spirit and environmental education. Attendees can enjoy live music, delicious local food, interactive children’s activities, educational displays and a vibrant showcase of regional organizations and vendors. All proceeds benefit PVCA’s environmental education programs in the Penns Valley Area School District.
— Labor Day Regatta in Lock Haven, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Foods, arts and crafts in Canal Park, games and rides and boat racing on the river.
— Grandview Farms — an Amish restaurant that’s open for breakfast specials — will be open from 7-11 a.m. Located at 144 Alandra St., Howard (in the Foothills Development, off Hubler Ridge Road). Call 814-482-1376 for info.
Sunday, Aug. 31
— Marsh Creek BIC Church’s outdoor service and summer picnic. Service starts at 10 a.m., bring a lawn chair. Picnic follows in the church pavilion. Meat and drinks provided. — Labor Day Regatta in Lock Haven noon to 10 p.m. Foods, arts and crafts in Canal Park, games and rides, boat racing on the river, ending with fireworks at 10 p.m. (Rain date for fireworks is Sept. 1 at 9 p.m.)

Monday, Sept. 1
— Labor Day holiday!
— Last day of the 54th annual Labor Day Regatta in Lock Haven, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
— Howard Area Lions Food Bank distribution has been moved to Sept. 8 because of the Labor Day holiday.
— Labor Day Picnic at Immaculate Conception Parish, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road,off Route 654, in Bastress, will hold its annual country style ham and turkey dinner from 12-6 p.m. The meal will consist of ham and turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, noodles, coleslaw, bread and dessert. The cost is $13 per meal for adults, $6 per meal for children ages 4-12. Children under 4 are free. Takeout meals are available after 1 p.m. Takeout meals are $13 per meal.
In addition to the dinner, other foods, snacks and desserts will be available on the grounds as well as a raffle and Bingo table. For info call Cole at 570-932-1886.
— Meckley Reunion at Bald Eagle State Park, meal at noon, games, family photo taken at 3 p.m. Bring covered dish and a prize for the raffle.
— Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station on 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.
