LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County Arts Council is proud to present its annual exhibit celebrating the visual arts in all media.
A true exploration of the many methods and materials one can employ to show creativity and expression, it is an exhibit not to be missed.
Over 40 pieces of art will be shown and judged for awards as artists from a 150 mile radius were invited to enter as an open call to both members and non-members of the CCAC.
Watercolor, acrylic and oil painting, metal assemblage, scratchboard, ceramics, stained glass, tin-type, printmaking, photography, mixed media, fiber arts… all can be seen starting this Friday when artists and visitors join together for the opening reception and awards announcements. Awards usually are announced between 7-7:30 p.m. Come early to enjoy conversation and refreshments, including charcuterie from Shoops.
The CCAC’s sponsor for monetary awards, Lauren MacDonald, Financial Planner of the Wealth Factory, has supported the non-profit’s efforts to celebrate the visual arts and enrich the community for many years.

“We are grateful for the support of the Wealth Factory and the encouragement this important exhibit has provided,” Carol Cillo, CCAC board member said.
The awards judge this year will be artist Linda Hale.
An accomplished artist with a keen eye, Hale works in both 2D and 3D media herself, with photography, ceramics and mixed media, exhibiting the ability to see and translate in various media and apply them to work in different dimensions.
“I once told my husband, eons ago, that when I became old and senile all he needed to do was give me a box of crayons and a coloring book. I didn’t understand then what I now know. I’ve always been attracted to the visual arts,” Hale said. “With no formal education in this area I began exploring it in a controlled and safe manner; folk art painting.”
After retirement, Hale was able to explore even more.

“Fine art photography became a passion which gave me the courage to share my images in galleries/shows. Several years ago I was fortunate enough to take a beginner sculpture class with Mark Pilato. He taught me to consider the ‘hand of the artist.’ From Jack Troy I learned to embrace the ‘marks of the flame’ in ceramics. From my artistic friends I’ve learned the joy of making and being connected,” Hale said. “Art is abundant when we are open to seeing it. It’s provocative. It’s what we need to complete even if it’s just a box of crayons and a coloring book. Thanks to the Station Gallery and Artists for this opportunity.”
