Covenant Cafe to meet Aug. 19
LOCK HAVEN — The Covenant Cafe, an early stage Alzheimer’s activity group, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 1-3 p.m. The group will be holding a picnic at the Nature Park off the McElhattan Exit of Route 220. Volunteers and participants are asked to bring a dish to share. An entree of chicken will be provided.
Guest presenter, Lisa Smith, of Woolrich, will do a short walk to identify wild flowers and plants.
If the weather is inclement, the group will hold an indoor picnic at the church located at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, where the guest speaker will do a PowerPoint presentation on wild flowers.
Participants in Memory Cafes throughout the country are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible. Individuals and families who are interested in being involved in this free program of the Covenant Cafe which meets the first and third Tuesday of every month from 1-3 p.m. are invited to call Fran Decker, MSW, at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084 for more information or for directions to the park.
