Genealogical Society to meet Sept. 9; feature guest speaker

LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County Genealogical Society will meet on Tuesday,

Sept. 9, at 7 p.m., in the Poorman Gallery, 352 E. Water St., Lock Haven.

The program is open to the public and free of charge.

Guest speaker Beatrice “Bebe” Fultz will discuss the life and accomplishments of her famous

ancestor Sybil Ludington, known in history as the female Paul Revere. In 1777, 16-year-old Sybil rode her horse over 40 miles to alert Americans that the British were marching to Danbury, Conn., to destroy American weapons and ammunition stockpiled there.

A brief membership meeting will be held to elect a vice-president and treasurer.
