McELHATTAN — Members of the Wayne Township Recreation Committee have shared information regarding the opening of its ice rink and a plethora of upcoming events:

PIZZA PARTY

Join the recreation committee on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 4-6 p.m., at the Wayne Township Nature Park for a “Pizza Party with Back to School Fun and Activities.” This event is sponsored by First Quality and hosted by the Recreation Committee and Wayne Township supervisors.

FALL EVENTS

Fall events will be announced soon. Something new is planned at the holiday house in the nature park for Halloween, watch for dates and times to be announced. Watch the Facebook page for updates as well!

Watch for the exciting additions that are planned to complete the Holiday House at the Nature Park later this summer and fall.

LOOKING FOR HELP

The recreation committee needs your help with decorations, including lights, to keep the Nature Park decorated for your enjoyment. If you can provide any donations, please reach out to Linda Calhoun at 570-660-4466.

Special thank you to Carla Willits for donating a book case to be used in the holiday house. The committee can’t wait until Christmas for you to see how beautiful this book case is.

AMERICA 250

Wayne Township is working on the America 250th Celebration which will occur throughout 2026.

NEW MEMBERS

The Recreation Committee is always looking for new members and volunteers. If you don’t want to commit to being a member, but have a special interest in something going on in Wayne Township, they would love your help.
