The Sugar Valley Historical Society will once again host their annual Chicken Barbecue, Museum Open House and one-room Bull Run School tours along with a Raffle Ticket Drawing on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Historical Society, located at 1756 Bull Run Road, is 2 miles southwest of Loganton, off Route 477, in the village of Bull Run. The chicken barbecue meal includes chicken leg and thigh, baked beans, applesauce, soda or water and homemade cake. You may enjoy eating the picnic lunch on site or you may wish to take-out. The price of the meal is $12.

On Oct. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Sons and Daughters of Italy, is the time to pick up your delicious Spaghetti Dinner that will benefit the Clinton County Historical Society. A $10 donation will get your ticket from any CCHS board member, by dropping by the Heisey House Museum or calling 570-748-7254. Castanea Halloween Parade

The Castanea Township Recreation Committee is seeking marching bands, floats, decorated vehicles, troupes, non-profits, dance schools, costumed walkers and police/fire/safety/EMS vehicles for the Annual Halloween Parade scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. The parade will be running the length of Brown Street and ending at the Castanea Fire Company on McElhattan Avenue. A children’s magic show is planned at the Fire Company following the parade. Prizes are awarded but pre-registration is necessary. Contact Rick Schulze, Chairperson of the Recreation Committee, at fschulze@comcast.net. Rain date for the parade is Monday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m.

Bellefonte Cash Bingo

Cash Bingo will be held at St. John’s Catholic School, 116 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte, to benefit the Bellefonte Knights of Columbus. Doors will be open to the public for food, plenty of homemade baked goods and dinner items, and small games of chance at 6 p.m., with Bingo starting at 7 p.m. The cost to play is $20 for 20 games, and the payouts will be $850 each month. Bingos will be held on the second Monday of each month from September through June.

Bingo dates are Oct. 13; Nov. 10; Dec. 15 (note the change); Jan. 12, 2026; Feb. 9; March 9, April 13, May 11 and June 8.

The school is a smoke-free facility and walk-ins are welcome to come to play Bingo.
