Shoe Bank
cancels date
The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank will not be open today. Many eligible families received free shoes in August, so there is little interest in a September date. The next chance to for kids and teens to get free shoes is Saturday, Oct. 18.
SVRCS Senior Socials
SVRCS’s Senior Socials will return for the 2025-2026 school year on Oct. 10. All seniors are welcome to join the second Friday of each month from October through April — exception for February. The program runs from 12:30- 2 p.m. in the gym lobby at 236 E. Main St., Loganton, where the life skills students will greet you and be your hosts! Activities, games, snacks and entertainment will be provided for your enjoyment! Come out and enjoy this special time to fellowship and interact with students. No reservation required. Cemetery meeting
Dunnstown Cemetery’s annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m., in the Dunnstown church. All lot owners and those interested in the cemetery are encouraged to attend.
A Ukrainian Soldier’s Experiences
Commonwealth University-Lock Haven will host “A Ukrainian Soldier’s Experiences” on Friday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m., in the Greenberg Auditorium of the Willis Health Professions Center along Railroad Street. The event will feature conversation with Sgt. Davyd, his wife and volunteers from Revived Soldiers Ukraine out of Philadelphia. The event can offer attendees the chance to understand the impact of war in Ukraine and discuss prosthetic devices in rehabilitation. For more information email fschulze@commonwealthu.edu. Help Helping Hands Help Others
Helping Hands at United Lutheran Church is a non profit program that helps low income families and senior citizens with items such as toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, soap, laundry care, cleaning items, ect. They are located at the United Lutheran Church in Lock Haven. They are asking for donations to keep our doors open. Any questions, please feel free to call Kelly Olmstead at 272-209-5912. Donations of any items (or financial support for us to buy items) will be a tremendous help for the program.
