Boxes of Hope hosts walkathon fundraiser to honor breast cancer warriors on Sept. 20
LOCK HAVEN — Boxes of Hope is holding its first Walk For Hope Walkathon on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Riverview Park, 193 Farrandsville Road, Lock Haven.
Everyone is welcome to walk in honor of or in memory of breast cancer warriors to raise money for Boxes of Hope, a breast cancer nonprofit organization located in Lock Haven.
Participants will walk or roll on a paved 1/2 mile loop in Riverview Park, which is wheelchair accessible.
There is still time to register as a walker or vendor at boh4bc.org/walk-for-hope. You can also register at the event.
If you are planning to volunteer at the walkathon, there will be a volunteer meeting on Sept. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Boxes of Hope office, 10 E. Main St. (2nd floor), Lock Haven.
This will be a fun event for the entire family with craft vendors, food and other activities.

Photography of the event will be provided by AP Photographing & Website Creations and Big Mike’s Racing Photography.
Jackson Productions, LLC will be providing DJ service and a 360 photo booth. Glossner’s Concrete will also have their pink cement mixer on display.
Representatives from Boxes of Hope will be on hand with an educational awareness booth. They will have a collection bin for items for their care packages. Examples of items that you can donate include word search puzzle books/journals (9×6 or smaller), decorative pens, bookmarks, socks with fun designs, travel size hand lotion, hand sanitizer or tissue packets, chapstick, small loofahs, chemo hats, scarves, individually wrapped peppermint candy, peppermint tea or chamomile tea, kids drawings and handwritten encouraging notes. All donation items must be new and unopened. You will receive one free single raffle ticket for bringing donated items and extra raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
