— Celebrate 150 Years of College Township with a Soup & Song Party at the historic 1880s granary in Lemont, this family-friendly event will start with a comforting selection of soups by Harrison’s Eat Well Catering available from 5:30-7 p.m. for $5 per 8-oz bowl, with to-go options available. Choices of five soups with commemorative mugs will also be available for $5 each, making for a perfect keepsake. Guests are invited to stay for live music from 7-8:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the State College Food Bank. Donations will be accepted in cash, by check payable to “State College Food Bank” or through Venmo. Reservations appreciated, but not required. Completing a quick reservation form will help to ensure plenty of soup and mugs for everyone. — BEN Class of 1990 will be holding their 35th Class Reunion this year! Please join fellow classmates at Floating Feathers in Mill Hall starting at 6 p.m. This will be a casual, classmates only gathering. — A yard sale will take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at St. Agnes Church Pavilion, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Holy Spirit Parish Acorn School. Items include clothes for girls, boys, women, men, hunting, fishing, Hess trucks, baby items, nursing items, home items, school furniture, teaching materials and more.
— The first annual Bugle Fest at the Quiet Oaks Campground, 88 Quiet Oaks Campground Lane, Cross Fork, on Sept. 19, 20 and 21. Organizers plan a relaxing “kick-your-feet-back” weekend revolving around the majestic Pennsylvania elk. The three-day event will be filled with Elk-themed activities including the sounds of the “rut” or fall mating season. The site was chosen for the close proximity to the center of the Clinton County elk herd population in the Kettle Creek watershed and Sproul State Forest. Festival visitors will experience an unforgettable weekend of Elk-themed activities, events and seminars. The Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Keystone Elk Country Alliance (KECA) will offer educational programs about the PA elk herd while other events include campfire music, wildlife drawing and photography classes, elk sightseeing excursions plus arts, crafts and food vendors. — Millbrook Playhouse is excited to announce the launch of a brand-new cabaret series, Back at the Barn, celebrating the talented alumni who got their start on the Playhouse stage. The inaugural event features beloved Millbrook veteran Nicholas Carroll, alongside resident Musical Director Mo Ortbal and special surprise guests. This two-night event promises an evening of live music, heartfelt stories and hilarious anecdotes as alumni return to the very stage where their artistic journeys began. “Back at the Barn” premiers at 7:30 p.m. in the Poorman Cabaret of the Millbrook Playhouse. — Farm City Family Festival at Clinton County Fairgrounds has been CANCELLED.
— Hometown Heroes Ceremony, 11 a.m., in Triangle Park. Master of Ceremonies is Jeff Croak, Jr., of the Clinton County Veterans Affairs office. National Anthem by Amy Kowatch, Color Presentation by Jersey Shore VFW Honor Guard, Invocation by Pastor Frank Hartzel. A variety of local elected officials from the state, county and city will offer welcoming remarks leading up to guest speaker, Master Sgt. Monica Anderson of the United States Army Reserves. Anderson, a proud native of Littlestown, Pa., has served her country with honor and distinction for over two decades. In keeping with her commitment to honoring service and sacrifice, MSG Anderson will also be performing Taps at the conclusion of Saturday’s ceremony — a solemn tribute to those who have served and those we have lost. Following MSG Anderson’s speech, Hometown Heroes Committee members Kowatch and Croak will hold a special banner presentation and unveiling for a local veteran selected by the committee. Pastor Frank Hartzel will follow with a benediction and DLH Board President Laura Jameson will offer closing remarks before the retiring of the colors and TAPS is played. A closing performance by United States Air Force Veteran John MacMillen on bagpipes will conclude the ceremony. Those attending the ceremony are invited to enjoy refreshments. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Recreation Center along Railroad Street.

— Nittany Valley Benefit Dinner is a community dinner featuring a traditional Amish home cooked wedding-style meal. The popular buffet-style dinner will be held from noon to 7 p.m. at the Walker Township Fire Hall in Hublersburg. All you care to eat and drink with the food being prepared by the best cooks in the community. We will also have our friendly youth available to help you fill your plates and to pour your drinks. Prices are $22 for adults 18 and over; $20 for seniors 65 and over; $20 for children (12-17 years); $9 for children ages 5-11 years; and Free for children ages 4 and under. Walk-ins are welcome, however, reservations/advanced ticket purchases are recommended. There are seven time slots for you to choose from: noon to 1 p.m., 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and finally 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Remember the 5-6 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. eating time slots fill up fast. — KBR Bingo and More will be hosting a benefit Bingo for the Central Mountain Marching Band who are planning a trip to Normandy, France, for the D-Day Parade in June, 2027. Doors and the kitchen open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m.
— Wingate Faith Church is sponsoring a “Community and Veterans Support Services Day” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the church grounds at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte. Local agencies to assist all ages will be on-site with brochures and info. Also free food, a bounce house and games for children, along with Chiz Rider in concert on the outdoor stage at 11 a.m. Quilts of Valor Ceremony honoring 26 local veterans will begin at 3:30 in the church sanctuary.
— The Constitution Day Centre’s Constitution Day celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Delta High School, 653 Westerly Parkway, State College. Free registration is at: wpsu.org/constitutionday, although walk-ins are welcome.
— Grand Opening of The Twisted Tree at 10 a.m., at 220 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. This new business venture is just down the street from the Second Cup Restaurant and is a unique shop featuring a mixture of vintage items, antiques, shabby chic and repurposed treasures. Follow The Twisted Tree on Facebook and join them for their Grand Opening.
— St. Mark Lutheran Church, at 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, holding a Free Book Fair and Costless Closet event. Free books, media, puzzles, games, CDs and DVDS will be available to take, along with gently used and clean clothes. Various foods and baked goods also will be available to purchase during the day. If possible, bring an unexpired food item or monetary donation to help the St. Mark Food Pantry.
— BEN Class of 1990 will be holding their 35th Class Reunion with a picnic at 70 Maggs Road, Beech Creek, starting at 1 p.m., eating at 5 p.m. This picnic will be for classmates and adult guests and will include hot dogs and hamburgers.
