Covenant Cafe to meet Sept. 2
LOCK HAVEN — The Covenant Cafe, an early stage Alzheimer’s activity group, will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 1-3 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
Barbara Hendricks and Andrea Schenck, volunteers from the STEP Office of Aging, will lead an exercise class using pool noodles.
Covenant Cafe volunteers Sharon Davy, Anne Miller and Roberta Muthler will lead a fall craft making scarecrows. Following the activities, a “Make Your Own Sundae” event will close out the day.
The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Nurturing, Outreach and Worship Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible. Individuals and families who are interested in being involved in this free program, which meets the first and third Tuesday of every month from 1-3 p.m., are invited to call Fran Decker, MSW, at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084 for more information.
