Light the Night

The Nittany Valley Fellowship of Churches will hold its annual Light the Night event from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Walker Township Park. The free family event features games, treat bags for kids, hot dogs, hot chocolate, cider and more! Kids are invited to dress in costumes, but not scary ones. Addiction

support

Support and resources are available to those who have a loved one that is an addict through the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall. If you would benefit from this support group and want to have a safe space to share experiences and be able to speak with a trained counselor, please call the church office at 570-726-4112 and leave a message with your name and phone number so the counselor can give you a call back. There is no charge for this service. All calls and conversations are kept confidential.

South and salad dinner

Judy Densevich Memorial All You Can Eat Soup and Salad Dinner; Monday, Oct. 27, at Bellefonte Knights of Columbus, 315 Stoney Batter, Bellefonte. (Knights of Columbus is up the hill from the Dollar General). Soup will be served from 11 a.m.-until 7 p.m., or until the soup runs out. Featuring at least 20 homemade soups, numerous salads, breads and plenty of homemade desserts, the cost is only $10 for eat in or take out. Quarts of soup are also available to-go for only $10. Haunted Renovo Tour

Join paranormal investigator Lou Bernard for a haunted walking tour of Renovo! The tour will include true, researched history, folklore and general weirdness from Renovo and Chapman Township! The tour begins Oct. 26, at Renovo Heritage, 530 Erie Avenue, Renovo. Tour will begin at 6 p.m. and lasts approximately one hour. Castanea Halloween Parade

The Castanea Township Recreation Committee is seeking marching bands, floats, decorated vehicles, troupes, non-profits, dance schools, costumed walkers and police/fire/safety/EMS vehicles for the Annual Halloween Parade scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. The parade will be running the length of Brown Street and ending at the Castanea Fire Company on McElhattan Avenue. A children’s magic show is planned at the Fire Company following the parade. Prizes are awarded but pre-registration is necessary.
