Farmer’s
breakfast
Breakfast is back at the Porter Township community building in Lamar. On the first Saturday of each month from October to April, join us for a farmer’s breakfast from 7-10 a.m. On Nov. 1, the breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrapple, hashbrowns, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The cost of each breakfast is $13 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under eat free. All proceeds from the farmer’s breakfast will be put towards helping community members and giving back.
Soup/Bake/
Craft sale
The Women’s Ministry of Zion Community Church, 3261 Zion Road, Bellefonte, will be hosting a Soup/Bake/Craft sale on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the fellowship hall of the church. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Zane Hummel to help purchase an athletic prosthesis. Zane is a local young man who recently lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. Zane had just graduated from Bellefonte and was headed to Penn State on an athletic scholarship.
Food for thought
Would you like to become a Shoe Bank volunteer? The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is usually open one Saturday a month, when we have the fun of giving free new shoes to eligible kids and teens. We are looking for more volunteers, including people we can call when we are shorthanded. If you’d like to volunteer or just ask questions about it, please text or call Wendy at 570-295-3443.
Donations needed
Many local cemeteries are struggling with having enough funds to make sure that the grass gets mowed. Whatever cemetery your loved ones are buried in, please consider making a donation now to help with the grass mowing expenses.
New Hope Fellowship Room
New Hope Fellowship has a Fellowship Corner Room at its church at 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The Fellowship Corner Room is available for your parties, receptions, showers and other small gathering events. The room will seat 60-70 comfortably and offers tables, cushioned chairs, stoves, microwaves, a refrigerator and plenty of counter space and outside parking. Monetary donations are appreciated but are not required for you to use the Fellowship Corner Room. Contact New Hope Fellowship at 570-755-1450 for info.
