— Blood Drive, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Penn State HUB, Heritage Hall, Pollock Road, University Park.
— LH Shoe Bank will give free new sneakers or other shoes to eligible kids and teens by appointment between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. Those eligible need to have Compass or a referral from a church, agency or organization and live in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School area. SATURDAY
— Come and get homemade vegetable soup at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, from 9 a.m. to noon. Folks can just drive in the alley and the soup will be delivered to their cars. Soup will be $9 a quart and comes in freezable containers!
— Logan Grange #109 is having a drive-through soup sale. The soup flavors are chicken corn noodle and stuffed pepper and the cost is $9 per quart. The soup sale runs from 10 a.m. until noon, or until all sold out. To pre-order so you’re sure you will get, call 814-360-5756, send a private message on their Facebook page or send an email to logangrange109@gmail.com. Walk-in sales will also be filled until all sold out! The Logan Grange hall is located at 122 N. Main St., Pleasant Gap.

— Curtin Village’s annual Apple Festival, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $5 admission for those over age 10. Come hungry for food, watch cider being pressed, kids’ activities like pumpkin painting, corn shelling and making corn husk dolls. McHugh Family Farm will have goats and bunnies at their petting zoo (additional fee charged).
— Basket Raffle Benefit for baby Coy Shade and his family, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Beech Creek-Blanchard Fire Company social hall. Many baskets have been donated. More baskets as well as supplies will help make the benefit a success! Call Brenda at 570-660-5283 or Kim at 570-449-2890 to donate.
— Howard Fire Company’s Punkin Chunkin at Bald Eagle State Park beach area, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission and parking! Enjoy the afternoon of pumpkins being chunked into the lake, arts and craft vendors and food vendors. Fun for the whole family!
— Walker Township Fire Company is having a gun raffle from 5-11 p.m. at the fire station in Hublersburg. Tickets are $10. There are 25 gun and cash prizes on the ticket stub along with rip tickets, good food and a DJ.
— Breakfast Benefit at Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Clubhouse, 7-11 a.m. All you can eat breakfast for $10 for adults; $6 for ages 6-12 years. Younger eat free. This month’s breakfast is to help Bill Boyer. Bill suffered a stroke which has left him bed/wheelchair bound and in need of 24/7 care. In addition to the breakfast, there will also be a basket raffle.
