Clinton Dems donate to local schools; Sleep in Heavenly Peace

RENOVO — Each month, the Clinton County Democratic Committee (CCDC) and the Clinton County Democratic Women (CCDW) launch an outreach campaign called “Dems Get Things Done!” to make monetary or in-kind donations to local community organizations.
In August, the committees collected and donated school supplies for Renovo Elementary and Bucktail Middle School. The donations included classroom essentials and student materials to help local children start the school year prepared and confident.
For September, the groups are focusing on Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Lock Haven Chapter, a local nonprofit that builds and delivers beds for children in need. The committees are collecting new pillows, twin-sized sheet sets and kid-friendly bedding. Throw blankets with popular children’s themes — such as Batman, PAW Patrol, Minnie Mouse, Pokemon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hello Kitty, Disney Princesses, The Mandalorian, Spidey and Sonic the Hedgehog — are especially appreciated. The deadline for bedding was Tuesday, Sept. 30. If you wish your donation to be picked up, email clintoncountypademocrats@gmail.com
Past Dems Get Things Done recipients include Covenant Cafe, the Clinton County SPCA, the Clinton County VA Military Food Share and the Clinton County Housing Coalition, among others.
