Piper Harmon, of Jersey Shore, was crowned the Lifevac Therapeutic Riding Champion during the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg on Friday, Oct. 17. Equestrians with disabilities from all over the state attended horse shows throughout the summer to qualify to ride in the championship. Qualifiers were sponsored by Lifevac and the PNHS Foundation, giving them the opportunity to ride in the same arena as elite equestrians from all over the world at no cost to the families. "This is such an incredible opportunity for these riders and they enjoy every minute of it. This year we were in the warm up arena with two of the Grand Prix riders and they were so amazing and encouraging to all of the therapeutic riders that were warming up. It's such a special thing to be able to be a part of and this year, with Piper bringing home the championship for her division, was just perfect," said Piper's coach, Sarina Bower.
