‘No Kings Rally’ set for Oct. 18 in Lock Haven
LOCK HAVEN — On Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2:30 p.m., citizens will gather at Triangle Park in Lock Haven for the No Kings Rally, a non-partisan demonstration focused on defending democracy, restoring accountability and reaffirming that no one is above the law.
According to a release from local organizers, “the rally’s message is clear: power belongs to the people, votes must count and democracy is not for sale. In an era of division and disinformation, participants aim to show that communities like those in Clinton County still believe in the core principles on which the nation was founded.”
The event is designed to speak directly to rural Americans, where civic involvement and patriotism remain deeply rooted, the release said.
“In Clinton County, patriotism has always been alive. We fly our flags, serve in our military, help our neighbors and show up at school board meetings because we care. Supporters emphasize that the rally is not about political parties but about right and wrong — about ensuring that truth matters, checks and balances function and leadership is earned, not crowned,” the release said.
The event will feature speakers who will highlight the importance of fair elections, peaceful transfers of power and holding leaders accountable under the Constitution.
Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, family and friends as a visible reminder that communities like Lock Haven care about the country’s future.
“America doesn’t crown rulers — we elect public servants,” reads one of the rally’s guiding statements. “We believe in liberty, law and leadership — not in kings.”
