Good Day

Happy Birthday to Brenda Etters, of Mill Hall!

Quote of the Day

“The best part of hunting and fishing was the thinking about going and the talking about it after you got back.”

— Robert Ruark

Word of the Day

House decorating contest

Light Up Wayne Township when you enter the house decorating contest this year. Decorate your home and then send a message to the Wayne Township Recreation Committee’s Facebook page to be judged, or sign up on the sheet at the McElhattan post office. Judging will be done on Sunday, Dec. 14, between 6-8 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top homeowners or businesses.

Courtesy parking

Bellefonte will again offer its courtesy parking program for the 2025 holiday season. The first time a parking enforcement officer observes a vehicle with no time on the meter, a complimentary two-hour pass will be issued. If, on a second pass that same day, no time remains and the two hours have expired, a ticket will be issued. Courtesy parking runs from Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, through New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2026.

Winter Clothing Drive

Millheim Fire Company’s Auxiliary is having a Winter Warmth Drive. Donations of new, gently used and clean clothing are sought, especially winter coats, hats, gloves and boots. Donations can be dropped off at the fire station on Nov. 26, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10, from 6-8 p.m. The clothing will then be given away, free of charge, on Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., when you can come and select the clothing and boots that you need to stay warm this winter.

Starting at $3.69/week.
