Santa and The Grinch

Santa and his elves along with The Grinch will be visiting the Wayne Township Nature Park on Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14, from 2-4 p.m. both days. Bring your cameras for photo opportunities with the holiday characters. Bring canned goods and nonperishable items that will be donated to the local food bank.

Farmer’s

breakfast

Breakfast is back at the Porter Township community building in Lamar. On the first Saturday of each month from October to April, join us for a farmer’s breakfast from 7-10 a.m. On Dec. 6, the breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrapple, hashbrowns, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The cost of each breakfast is $13 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under eat free. All proceeds from the farmer’s breakfast will be put towards helping community members and giving back.

Class of 1957

LHHS and ICHS Class of 1957 will meet on the second Saturday of each month at Restless Oaks at 9 a.m. Classmates and guests are welcome.

Cash Bingo Events

Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station on 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs. Bingo will be next held on Dec. 1.

KBR Bingo and More holds Bingo every Tuesday night at the Piper Airport Museum’s 3rd floor, Lock Haven. Early Bird game at 6:15 p.m., and regular Bingo at 6:30 p.m.

Help Helping Hands Help Others

Helping Hands at United Lutheran Church is a non profit program that helps low income families and senior citizens with items such as toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, soap, laundry care, cleaning items, ect. They are located at the United Lutheran Church in Lock Haven. They are asking for donations to keep the doors open. Any questions, please feel free to call Kelly Olmstead at 272-209-5912. Donations of any items (or financial support for us to buy items) will be a tremendous help for the program.

Food for thought

Would you like to become a Shoe Bank volunteer? The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is usually open one Saturday a month, when we have the fun of giving free new shoes to eligible kids and teens. We are looking for more volunteers, including people we can call when we are shorthanded. If you’d like to volunteer or just ask questions about it, please text or call Wendy at 570-295-3443.
