MCELHATTAN– At Pathway to Christ Church, generosity and love for others continues to shine as a reflection of God’s goodness. Recently their congregation came together in a powerful act of compassion by collecting boxes of Cheerios for the Jersey Shore Care and Share.

Each box represents more than just breakfast: it symbolizes hope, care and the love of Christ in action. As Jesus said in Matthew 25:35, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.” The congregation truly lives out these words, showing what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus in today’s world, Pastor Laura Gilbert said.

During the Cheerios drive, 118 boxes were collected with 62 boxes collected by the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jacksonville, Mount Bethel UCC and the Salona UCC. These donations will help countless families in need. Pathway is grateful for the love and sharing of these churches in helping to feed families. Thank you!

Pathway has solid outreach programs that include a hot lunch the last Wednesday of each month to area families, children’s events, packing food at the PA Central Food Bank and, presently, collecting empty pill bottles.

All are welcomed to Pathway’s adult Sunday school from 9-9:45 a.m., and church service at 10 a.m. They open their doors to all for Bible study every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., and the autism support group the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Starting at $3.69/week.
