Halloween has passed, but the week leading up to Friday’s holiday was filled to the brim with lots of frights and delights. On Oct. 25, hundreds turned out for the Lock Haven Fire Department’s Annual Halloween Parade along Main Street in the city. Even with that, paired together with an afterparty at Triangle Park and a Shop or Treat with local businesses downtown, more fun was to be had. On Sunday afternoon, the Castanea Township Recreation Committee put on its annual Halloween Parade, where families turned out in droves to collect even more sweet treats and marvel at various businesses, organizations and individuals’ creativity. The Wayne Township Recreation Committee also offered some frightful fun on Oct. 25, holding a trunk or treat event at the Nature Park, giving families the chance to be scared at The Bates Motel themed Holiday House and offering fun Hayrides in the parking lot of Restless Oaks. In Bellefonte, the annual Talleyrand Fall Fest and Halloween parade also brought the community together last Saturday for a day full of fall fun. Presented by the Bellefonte Area Rotary Club, the festival featured more than 25 vendors and a variety of free activities for all ages. The Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society offered scenic train rides, while Bellefonte Presbyterian Church delighted kids with a bounce house, mini horses and goats. On behalf of the community, The Express would like to thank the many individuals and organizations who help make our corner of central Pennsylvania such a fun and festive place to live. Happy Halloween!
