The BEN Class of 1961 will be having a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, at Haywood’s on the Green in Mill Hall. All classmates and guests are invited.
Santa and
The Grinch
Santa and his elves along with The Grinch will be visiting the Wayne Township Nature Park on Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14, from 2-4 p.m. both days. Bring your cameras for photo opportunities with the holiday characters. Bring canned goods and nonperishable items that will be donated to the local food bank.
TOPS
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is looking for interested participants and guest speakers. Weigh-ins are from 4:30-5 p.m. each Monday afternoon, followed by the business meeting at 5 p.m. TOPS is held at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall. Guest speakers are being sought to give a 15-20 minute presentation (or demonstration) on nutrition, forms of exercising or other healthy habits during the meetings. For questions or to volunteer as a guest speaker, call Anna at 570-660-2087.
Donations needed
Roads to Peace is in need of: toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, 12 gallon garbage bags, hand and dish soap, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, razors, shaving cream, face wash, deodorant, gently used cutlery, pots/pans, bottled water, juice boxes, easy to prepare meals and snacks, dish sets, and unused bedding. Outdoor toys for children, such as balls, sidewalk chalk and bubbles are also needed for the summer months of play.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!

The Jersey Shore Elks #1057 restaurant is open to the public! Come try the great food prepared by Two Fired Up Guys. They offer more than your typical bar foods; burgers, sandwiches, dinners, salads, wings and much more. Check them out on Facebook for the full menu and daily specials such as Wing Night Wednesday. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Closed Tuesday and Sunday.
Seeking sobriety
Seeking Sobriety, a local AA meeting, meets Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 E. Main St., Lock Haven. Enter through the door at the end of a walkway on the right of the church. The open meeting features rotating topics with a focus on tools and a mindset for getting and staying sober.
