SVRCS Senior Socials

SVRCS’s Senior Socials have returned for the 2025-2026 school year. All seniors are welcome to join the second Friday of each month from January through April — exception for February. The program runs from 12:30-2 p.m. in the gym lobby at 236 E. Main St., Loganton, where the life skills students will greet you and be your hosts! Activities, games, snacks and entertainment will be provided for your enjoyment! Come out and enjoy this special time to fellowship and interact with students. No reservation required. Questions, contact djeffries@svrcs.org or call 570-367-1351.

A Simple

Request

Dogwood Circle Garden Club requests that those smokers who walk through the garden at the triangle and enjoy the flowers please take your cigarette butts with you instead of dropping them on the sidewalk or flicking them into the plantings. We have enough to do in maintaining the gardens and don’t need to pick up after you, too. Nothing is ever “thrown away,” just put somewhere else for others to deal with.

Food for thought

Would you like to become a Shoe Bank volunteer? The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is usually open one Saturday a month, when we have the fun of giving free new shoes to eligible kids and teens. We are looking for more volunteers, including people we can call when we are shorthanded. If you’d like to volunteer or just ask questions about it, please text or call Wendy at 570-295-3443.

Donations needed

Many local cemeteries are struggling with having enough funds to make sure that the grass gets mowed. Whatever cemetery your loved ones are buried in, please consider making a donation now to help with the grass mowing expenses.

TOPS

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is looking for interested participants and guest speakers. Weigh-ins are from 4:30-5 p.m. each Monday afternoon, followed by the business meeting at 5 p.m. TOPS is held at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall. Guest speakers are being sought to give a 15-20 minute presentation (or demonstration) on nutrition, forms of exercising or other healthy habits during the meetings. For questions or to volunteer as a guest speaker, call Anna at 570-660-2087.

Starting at $3.69/week.
