Salvation Army continues Red Kettle campaign

LAURA TARANTELLA/THE EXPRESS

It’s that time of year again where you will see The Salvation Army Red Kettles set up at different stores throughout the community. The Salvation Army in Lock Haven kicked off their kettle campaign on Saturday, Nov. 15. This campaign is crucial to the mission of The Salvation Army, and allows them to continue to serve the communities throughout the year with things such as rent, utilities, food, clothing, Christmas dinner and gifts for families that need the help. The local Salvation Army currently has around 175 families signed up for Christmas assistance, and have over 325 children they will get toys for. In order for The Salvation Army to continue to provide these services, they need the community’s help. They are currently seeking volunteers to ring the bell. This is something that is very simple to do, and anyone can do it. If you aren’t able to stand….that’s ok, you can sit. The Salvation Army is blessed to have groups that stand each year, but they still need help! If this sounds like something you or your family would like to do, please call the office at 570-748-2951 to sign up. Salvation Army volunteer Darla McGill stands outside Northwest Bank Friday, Dec. 5. McGill will be at this location Fridays and Saturdays until noon.

Starting at $3.69/week.
