Holy Moments in History
Michael Palischak, a well known, masterful historian and retired history teacher, who is also known for his Holy Moments in History lectures at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, will be offering a historical lecture, presenting information on the events leading up to the Declaration of Independence. The lecture will include the document itself along with the signers of this national birth certificate which began our existence as the United States of America.
The lecture will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m., at the church at 111 Main St., Mill Hall. There is plenty of parking and a handicap ramp to the rear of the church to use. The lecture is free and sweet treats and beverages will be provided as well.
Uptown Music Collective
The Sons and Daughters of Italy Lodge #146, 1 N. Henderson St., Lock Haven, will host Uptown Music Collective on their heated patio on Jan. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. This event is open to the public and will serve as a fundraiser for the collective’s Financial Aid Fund for students attending the program. There is no charge but donations will be accepted. The event will include performances by students from UMC, including 90’s rock, R&B groups and three solo performances.
A resolution
Would becoming a Shoe Bank volunteer fit in with any of your New Year’s resolutions? The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is usually open one Saturday a month, when we have the fun of giving free new shoes to kids and teens. We are looking for more volunteers, including people we can call when we are shorthanded. If you’d like to volunteer or have questions, please text or call Wendy at 570-295-3443.
Class of 1957
LHHS and ICHS Class of 1957 will meet on the second Saturday of each month at Restless Oaks at 9 a.m. Classmates and guests are welcome.
