Friday, Jan. 2
— Blood Drive, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the YMCA, 145 E. Water St., Lock Haven.
— Old School Market, former Rote Elementary, at East End Mountain Road, Mill Hall, is open each Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Butchering equipment auction at 4 p.m., followed by hay and small animal auction starting at 6 p.m.
— Centre Hall Fire Company’s First Friday of the month Bingo at the fire station. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and Early Bird Bingo begins at 6:30 p.m. For every Early Bird purchase the fire company will donate $2 to Penn State’s THON. Chances on Special Penn State Raffle Baskets will also be sold with proceeds going to THON. An anonymous donor will match the fire company’s proceeds up to $1,000 so come out, buy early bird packages and support THON.
— KBR Bingo holds Cash Bingo every Friday night, 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Call Deb at 570-660-2647.
Saturday, Jan. 3
— Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club’s youth Pennsylvania snowmobile safety course will be conducted at the Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club lodge, which is located approximately 6 miles north of Haneyville, and directly across Route 44 from Pat Reeders Tavern in Clinton County. Parents are to accompany their children to registration so that the required forms may be completed. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; class starts promptly at 9 a.m. and will end no-later-than 3 p.m.Class participants qualify for their certificate by completing their workbooks and achieving a score of 80 percent or better on the final examination. Students receive their safety certificates at the end of the course.
Pre-registration is required. Adults are encouraged to participate. The class is free and the Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club will provide lunch. To pre-register for the course and to reserve lodging at the Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club, please contact Dan Casey at 570-875-3006 or dcasey@ptd.net
— Porter Township Farmer’s Breakfasts are held the first Saturday of each month through April. Held at the community building in Lamar, the breakfast is served from 7-10 a.m. The breakfast will include eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrapple, hashbrowns, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The cost of each breakfast is $13 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under eat free. All proceeds from the farmer’s breakfast will be put towards helping community members and giving back.
— KBR Bingo and More will hold KBR Super Bingo — tickets are $30. In addition to the Bingo there is usually a basket raffle, rip tickets and good food! Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m. KBR Bingo is located on the third floor of the Piper Museum Building in Lock Haven. Elevator service is provided!
